Now for the third year, my daughter is hosting a neighborhood book club called BookWorm Wednesday. She started this project as a fifth grader and now — as a Youth Leader for Literacy — has expanded her efforts to help other young people start neighborhood book clubs in their own neighborhoods. She speaks at regional and national conferences to teach other young people ways to start a book club, as well as speaking to adults about what they can do to support young leaders like her.
