Hi, Kelly! I would LOVE to use both your book and the SPARK Peer Tutoring Handbook in our asset-building work in Portland, Maine.
Our program just received a new state grant to implement and evaluate the SAMHSA program “CAST” (Coping And Support Training – a high school-based suicide prevention program targeting youth 14 to 19 years old. CAST delivers life-skills training and social support in a small-group format) in 3 different public schools – one being an elementary school, which is a first here.
We are also working with researchers from RAND & Search to evaluate our upcoming “Positive Tickets” project which will have our community police officers handing out tickets to kids doing things right (developed by Ward Clapham, BC, Canada).
We are all about promoting asset-building and any additional tools in our toolbox would be appreciated greatly!
