CONGRATULATIONS Aimee (comment #49) and Ginny (comment #70)! Please contact me within 48 hours to claim your prize. Thanks to all who participated!
I’m thrilled to offer two lucky readers a Roots of Time Family Tree Kit for free! (Each is a $40 value!)
The Roots of Time Family Tree Kit is an easy and attractive way to display your family genealogy. You can create a unique and professional-looking family tree that you’ll be proud to display in your home.
I’ve seen one of these family trees completed – it really is a beautiful way to celebrate “family.” The family tree is made of quality archival materials and can be assembled in your home quickly and easily. I’d like one for our own home.
The kit consists of one tree serigraph, a set of two-tone adhesive leaves, four legal-sized leaf imprint templates, one leaf placement guide, one family tree reference guide, and how-to instructional booklet, including tips on family research, and access to online leaf personalization system.
You simply write your family names on the leaves, or use the online leaf personalization system to do it with your printer. Place the self-adhesive leaves to the tree and voila! All you need to purchase is a frame.
To be considered for the contest, please visit the Roots of Time site and then come back here to comment about how you would use the Roots of Time family tree. You can participate even if you don’t have a blog. Just make sure you leave a working email when you leave your comment. US addresses only. I’ll choose the winner at random after 5 p.m. CST on Friday, October 31.
We host regular giveaways for parents and educators. Please consider signing up for updates by email or feed. We will never spam you or give out your address.

WOW! What a wonderful way to show your family tree. I have been doing genealogy for some time and continue to try and figure out how to display it except for onthe computer that is. I would love to be able to have something like this especially as my kids get older so that they can see how deep our roots really go!
6:25 am
This is such a wonderful idea. I would use this to help my kids remember their family. Most of my relatives are deceased and dad’s live out of state. This would be great way of reminding them of their roots.
8:20 am
It is so pretty! I would put this together with my oldest daughter as we study our family history. We would probably stretch it out by doing a little at a time to leave time to discuss and dig up information as we go. What a great giveaway! Thanks for hosting this!
9:28 am
Once when we were visiting a historic house, in one of the bedrooms there was a similar family tree displayed – except the leaves were all the handwritten names in tiny script – ever since I’ve wanted to duplicate that – but no talent here.
I’d love to win your family tree kit! It would be fun to work on with the kids so they can have a better idea about this crazy large family of ours.
9:39 am
I would fill these out for my mom and mother-in-law – they love family history but this is such a great way to display them – just beautiful! I may have to get an additional one for me
10:08 am
The Roots of Time Family Tree kit is great. I would have intergenerational conversations and build history together with my 5 year old grandson. The project would also include my 3 adult children and the great grandparents also. Thanks for the idea and potential gift!
10:11 am

12:37 pm

12:39 pm

1:14 pm
These would make a great Christmas gift for my mom. They are beautiful!
1:27 pm
This is so cool! And I love that you can personalize & print from their website (since my handwriting is atrocious). I really can’t decide if I would keep it for myself, or give it as a Christmas gift for my mother-in-law.
1:51 pm
What a beautiful way to celebrate family! My daughter would love to put this together with me. She’s fascinated by stories about my youth, and by stories from my parents and grandparents about their youth, and this looks like a wonderful way for her to help visualize the connections in our family! Her brother would be able to appreciate it and learn from it as he grows up as well.
2:03 pm
This is beautiful! THis would be a wonderful Christmas gift that would definitely be a family heirloom!
3:08 pm
I would love to have this in my room! Thank you so much!
Caroline

Those are so neat! I would LOVE to make on for my grandparents for Christmas!
3:58 pm
10-4 on a wonderful way to show your children just where they DID come from. Having traced one side of my family back to the days of Christ (lucked out with a real Genealogy buff in the family on the maternal side who located a book that included my great-great grandmother and backwards from her)I feel the leaves needed for my tree would fill an auditorium! lol.
However, on the paternal side I hope Kelly or maybe Darla will one day get us off the North American continent to our REAL roots in Norway. Gee I wish people had not changed their names on the boat when they immigrated here!!
Maybe I could just start with ME and go forward to Kelly, Darla and Craig -(couldn’t forget my favorite son-in-law though). What a BEAUTIFUL family tree that would make for one small wall in my home!
4:06 pm
i would put this in my living room. How beautiful!
