Our ultra-vintage cabin bathroom needs a whole lot more than a just new toilet seat, but since that was the currently broken item, we splurged. I was about to screw in the bolts, and thought, “This is a job for preteens.”
The most readily available was Darla, so I coached her through the extremely simple process of attaching the toilet seat.
And voila!

What’s cool about this is taking time to teach little things we take for granted. Our kids grow so fast it’s easy to miss how much they may not be learning because we do things they could – just out of habit. Thanks for the reminder.

I completely love the pose she gave when the job was done. I think it is great to teach kid things like this. The hard part for me is realizing that I know how to do this but THEY don’t. Thanks for the reminder to look for opportunities to teach my kids!
