What a wonderful post. My 2 older children are teenagers and my "baby" is 9. I miss them in their younger years... but I truly enjoy them (most of the time!) as they grow into young adults. I try to be sure I treasure the times we are all together. Simple times, but they mean so much.

Kelly - your post today really touched me. I got really teary this weekend just thinking about my boy growing up. (He is 13 and on the cusp of young manhood) and I have to admit, I spend some time "grieving his future loss" when I think how fleeting these days are...sometimes that overshadows actually enjoying the days at hand. So, your post hit home.

Happy Monday.

I know what you mean about stopping to enjoy the special moments. Last night I played backyard golf with my grandsons, and I wanted the time to stand still. The boys take lessons, so they were teaching me how to stand and swing a club. We used a football for the hole. It was an amazing time. We laughed so much and made up the rules as we played.
