We planted lilacs this spring and all the Wisconsin rain this spring has been flooding them out. I keep hoping they will come back next year!

Wow, gorgeous photos! Thanks! I have to say that usually I prefer photos of flowers to the real thing so that I can avoid the sneezing and eye-watering :o)

Great pictures. The purple reminds me of the beauty of the Jacaranda Trees when they flower over here.

Gorgeous photos! I too have a new appreciation for flowers, especially now that I have a curious toddler. I'm looking forward to the fall planting season, when he'll be old enough to help plant and not try and eat the bulbs/seeds. It is amazing how our interests and priorities shift/morph/change.
Wonderful post!

Our lupines and lilacs are past.
Thank goodness flowers don't all bloom at the same time. Yes it would be glorious. But.. the rest of the spring, summer, and fall would be so lonely.

I see those purple flowers everywhere. Are they lavender plants or something else? They are so pretty, I put a picture of them on my blog header.

I enjoy seeing your Washington, DC, pictures. We hope to go there later this summer.
