Jun 08, 2008

I was privileged to interview many outstanding young people in researching for my book. One of these individuals was Heather Wilder, a 13-year-old former foster child from Las Vegas. She published a series of booklets to help other foster children cope with the difficulties they faced while in the system.

She has been named a finalist for the Energizer Keep Going Hall of Fame. Here are details from the website:

The Keep Going® Hall of Fame is our way of honoring those people and hopefully inspiring others to never quit, to dream big dreams and to, you know, Keep Going®!

To help kick start those big dreams, the winner of the 2008 Energizer® Keep Going® Hall of Fame search will receive a $10,000 cash prize for themselves and an additional $5,000 donation for their favorite charity.

You can read all the finalists’ stories and vote for your favorite individual through July 25.
