PTT – Halloween costume edition

Maybe we make Halloween harder than it needs to be. Here’s what works for us.

Hmm…I think I may have to do this next year! My boys are in the costume/dress up stuff everyday so I’m sure they would come up with something fantastical. One day my oldest said he wanted to be a Cowboy Astronaut Fireman when he grew up ~ maybe he could figure out how to dress as one for Halloween!

Our downtown association opens up business for Halloween. One year I dressed as a witch, and kids were scared to come in our office. (I was in a leg cast and crutches – so I had additional props)

I’m really looking forward to the day when my children start putting together their own Halloween costumes. They are both 3 now. However, my girl has certainly been creative in her choice this year. “I want to be an Owl, Mommy.” and “I still want to be an Owl, Mommy.” So, she will be an owl. I’m actually having fun putting all the items together. My son will be an airplane pilot, again. I used a navy blue blazer and pinned little airplane buttons on the lapels. Then he wore head phones. Simple but perfect for a little one that doesn’t like “stuff” on them.

He chose Johnny Cash because that’s what his Grandpa sings when he plays guitar. And he’s helping Craig to learn to play.

Johnny Cash!? Wow!! What a unique choice for a child to make. Does he like Cash’s music?

When I asked my 3 1/2 y/o daughter what she wanted to be for halloween, she told me “Icky Cat Food.” I don’t know how we’re going to manage that one. I think she might just be a pirate instead. haha
