I’d planned on posting this next week for Pass-the-Torch Tuesday, but there are only TWO DAYS LEFT to support this effort, so I’ll post it today instead. Thanks for your help!
Jane, from My Many Colored Crayons, writes about her awesome adventures with her third-grade Los Angeles classroom. It’s inspiring to read her blog, because she’s so filled with hope and pride for her students. She explains her philosophy like this:
Teaching is much like opening a box of crayons. There is so much potential to be discovered. Each student and each day has many different colors.
She’s trying to raise money for her classroom, and is asking for help.
I am a teacher who uses and benefits from DonorsChoose.com, an amazing nonprofit organization that is a finalist in The Members Project. The prize is up to $5 million, and the outcome will be decided by votes of American Express card holders. If we help DonorsChoose.com win, all the proceeds will go to classroom projects in public schools. OFS is one of those schools! My Crayon Box is one of the lucky classrooms!
If you’re an American Express cardholder, please consider clicking through and giving the project your vote. But even if you’re not, her blog is a great reminder of the good we’re capable of doing.
Keep up the great work, Jane! And keep on passing the torch!
You can pass the torch every week, by sharing simple and stupendous times kids make us proud, as well as the ways we see adults passing the torch. Just blog a story or share it in comments. My comment plugin will leave your link automatically. Former PTT posts. Complete Guidelines.
