As my first manuscript deadline rapidly approaches, I’m acutely aware that I’m overscheduled. I’ve been getting by with shorter posts, photos and WordPress scheduled posting. I rely heavily on Bloglines to catch up on my favorite blogs, and I’ve almost stopped commenting entirely. The grandparents have helped out significantly in the past couple of weeks to take the kids for blocks of time and give me an opportunity to focus on my book.
But I need your help as well.
I love Pass the Torch, and I’ve come to depend upon the camaraderie here. I CHERISH your supportive and thoughtful comments and emails.
It’s important to me that I find a balance so that I don’t disappear from the blogosphere like others have. This blog serves as my personal and writing journal, my photo scrapbook, and a nursery for future projects.
I only post what I am inspired to post — which is a constant flow. I have far more ideas in my head than I ever have time to type. But honestly, if it weren’t for you readers, I wouldn’t post publicly at all. I guess in some ways, you’re my muse.
So, what would you most like to see me continue doing on this blog?
If you’re a feed lurker (which is what I am these days), this is a good time to click in and comment. If you were to choose ONE THING for me continue doing on this blog, what would it be?
A few choices might be:
Pass the Torch Tuesday
Homeschooling experiment
Tales of a 4th Grade Guinea Pig
Kid photos
Scenery photos
Heard in my world
Parenting
etc.
Thank you for your help — I value your opinion so I can focus my blog entries for the next few months. I’m going to leave this post up until I see you for Pass the Torch Tuesday!

I believe the first post I read on your site was “Wish It Could Have Been More”. I loved it. I guess that one fell in the Family category. I also really love Pass the Torch Tuesday and going to visit the participants. Then, I like seeing the pictures from your part of the world. You get weather there that I will never see!
Guess that really narrows it down for ya!

I really love PTT, but I also love your pictures…all of them!! Then too I love to read about your kids…it’s hard to choose one thing that I come here for!
12:24 pm
I love your photos and your family stories. PTTT is really special, too.
5:28 pm
Since my little ones aren’t quite able to help me contribute to PTTT yet, I’d say I come here for your awesomepics, your homeschooling info, and parenting ideas. My two cents…

I just love having YOU around. Any-how you want it. Don’t leave.

I think I like seeing photos from your world the best. It gives me perspective to see what life is like somewhere I’ve never been.

Of course I’m biased towards everything about the kids.
I like “Tales” and “Experiments” very much.
I don’t have time to follow all the Pass The Torch stories because I have to limit the blogs I read, too. Otherwise I’d melt into this chair.

I enjoy all of it but I really like hearing about the kids and your homeschooling adventures. Your life is so very different to mine - from homeschooling to work to the weather - and I love reading about the differences.

The things I love the most on your site are the photos, the “experiment”, and “tales”. I like the perspective you give.

I read blogs because of the different ideas of a blog people have. So, I would say keep doing what you have been doing. Plus, human interaction is always nice

You know my dear, I chanced upon your blog and instantly connected with so much of what you shared. I keep coming back because I feel like I connected to you. I enjoy everything you share. I think what kept me coming back at first was how positive everything here is, I always walked away with something that made me feel inspired and/or generally happy. That’s a real talent. How’s that book coming? Sometimes we’re on top of the big old wheel and other times we’re running in front of it - schedules and life have a way of keeping that wheel and our position constantly moving.
Hugs,

Great, Kelly…I’m not quite sure how to word what I wanna say. I cannot recall how I came across your blog, but I imagine it was from reading comments of yours elsewhere. THAT’S where I feel like I got to “know” you–via comments. You are thoughtful…insightful…you READ the blog post and then comment well. You even read between the lines! It’s clear you aren’t just popping in to get “credit” for commenting somewhere. You’re generous, you support other bloggers. So it’s not just what you “do” here, it’s what you do “out there” that keeps me coming back.
Because I’m not a homeschooling mom, personally that’s not why I read PTT; many of those posts I’ve enjoyed, but it’s not why I read you. Pictures are nice (b/c they’re easy to “absorb” and then share your thoughts), and it’s always nice to eavesdrop on what’s going on in your neck of the woods.
Feed yourself, here…I think if you try to pinpoint what “we” want, you’ll set yourself up for a kind of “failure”…too many diverse opinions in other words.
Blogging…feedback…FEEDS something in me. It’s a creative outlet. I wish I could spend more time reading more people. But the truth is, it necessarily HAS to be limited to maintain some sort of “relationship” with the few regular readers you enter into relationship with. Blogs with larger readerships aren’t able to do that (the people behind the blogs). It’s nice when you can.
So there…a whole lot of opinion I’m not sure helps at all. I’m just glad you’re in my sphere :).
