Although I’ve met my daily post goal (thanks to WordPress scheduled posts), many of you know that I haven’t actually been here to press “publish.” I’ve been lapping up the above-average temperatures on Fort Myers Beach, Florida for the past two weeks.
Fourteen days is an unusually long vacation for me — an opportunity that presented itself in the form of an outstanding condo deal on eBay, coupled with a homeschooling experiment that doesn’t keep attendance. It was also a working vacation, as I did a lot of research and writing for my book. Thank you to everyone who has given me excellent leads!! If you have an idea for my book, please share it!
I promise to present to you beach photos ad infinitum, over the next few weeks, until surely you’ll throw tomatoes at your screens in protest.
In the meantime, I want to thank you for continuing to read and comment during my absence. It was a joy to read your comments, even on my ridiculously small BlackBerry. I apologize if who didn’t receive a reciprocal comment or response lately. I quickly discovered that BlackBerries and blogging do not mix. I performed thumb gymnastics to type time-consuming comments, only to have them swallowed into the black BlackBerry hole that devours Blogger identities, passwords, spam filter codes, emails and web addresses.
I’m off to read message 1 of 974…
See you tomorrow for Pass the Torch Tuesday!

[...] So on our recent trip, I discovered a must-have item — this pop-up beach tent. It was just $20 at the corner resort store, but it saved our skin and allowed us to stay on the beach a lot longer than we would have normally stayed. [...]

Tell me what beaches you have enjoyed the most. We try to hit Florida every winter, and have explored a few different areas.

We love Marco Island, but also have enjoyed Fort Myers Beach, Sanibel, and North Reddington Beach.
