This is something that’s been bothering me, too. Some of them, such as Laura at Scribble and T at Send Chocolate, I may never know why. Others, such as Dorothy (who has had to restart a couple of times and is in between blogs now), it’s because of nasty people who won’t leave them alone or fallout with family members. I can totally respect having to leave the blogosphere to take care of real life– I just wish they wouldn’t leave without saying good bye…

I too am sad when blog friends retire.
I LOVE this world and can’t see me retiring.
On the other hand, I can understand why some do – this is so totally addicting.

And there are soooo many good blogs to read.

I have a blogroll set up for ‘retired’ or ‘dead’ blogs and it’s linked on my sidebar. It’s called “Let Sleeping Blogs Lie”. Some of them have disappeared and I don’t know why (”Naked Nerd”). Others are because they found it too difficult to juggle family life and work. Others are for more personal reasons that I’d rather not mention to protect the innocent.

Sometimes I worry that my blog may die because I can’t afford the time to keep blogging, but I love it so much that something else might have to go first. Like housework, love life …. oh wait, it already has! …. ahem… anyhoo it’s a fine balance trying to juggle everything.

Gosh, this seems to be the hot topic right now. I could never think of quitting although I do get awfully tired sometimes. I just read this post about how to know when to stop blogging and had to stop because it was getting depressing!

I don’t think I could quit blogging, it is “me”, and took me too long to start (Nov 2006). Had 4 going, but just eliminated the last one I started today. I love the other three.

Oh, I did quit. I used to blog at Sherbet in a Spoon back in 2003. I don’t remember why I quit. I think it became more of a pressure than a pleasure. When people are expecting something from you sometimes that just becomes unpleasant. Plus, I hate proofreading and am horrible at it. That takes up more time sometimes than actually writing the blog.
