Is it any karmic coincidence that it took the publisher nine months to get back to you and tell you your proposal was going to be a book? LOL. I have to say, I love the line "But because she didn’t think she already had enough to do, she became a writer." How true, how true!

[...] The need for unwavering spousal support of the home educator. While my husband is an outstanding father (see exhibits A and B) and very supportive in general, the input I receive from him about our children’s education is more about how they do it in his school, rather than interest in, or recognition about, what we do in home school. The importance of homeschool being the full-time job. While I started this endeavor with only a part-time business to run, I’ve turned to full-time recently. This responsiblity will end when my book is finished, but the stress of managing it all, is not something I would continue to do longterm. The value of nearby, real-life allies, who provide a logistically easy, good-fit socialization. It doesn’t matter whether these families homeschool, or support your homeschool, but there’s a critical need for a natural connection to other kids that relate well to yours. Homeschoolers I have met that do this very well, tend to have family close, or best friends with kids the same age as their’s. [...]

[...] As my first manuscript deadline rapidly approaches, I’m acutely aware that I’m overscheduled. I’ve been getting by with shorter posts, photos and WordPress scheduled posting. I rely heavily on Bloglines to catch up on my favorite blogs, and I’ve almost stopped commenting entirely. The grandparents have helped out significantly in the past couple of weeks to take the kids for blocks of time and give me an opportunity to focus on my book. [...]

[...] Fourteen days is an unusually long vacation for me — an opportunity that presented itself in the form of an outstanding condo deal on eBay, coupled with a homeschooling experiment that doesn’t keep attendance. It was also a working vacation, as I did a lot of research and writing for my book. Thank you to everyone who has given me excellent leads!! If you have an idea for my book, please share it!
Kelly,

Wow.

Wow!

WOW!!!

:), I used that on my blog recently, and I like the way the "wows" progress, because it's kind of how I feel about your GREAT news!!! I couldn't be happier for a blogger friend.

You already answered my question (Michele asked), so now I'll just stay tuned and cheer from the sidelines. Unless you'd like to run your draft past me in its early stages, because I'm the type friend who tells you the truth versus what you "wanna" hear, but I imagine you already have friends IRL who do that for ya, and by the looks of this run-on sentence you'd be SCARED to listen to me anyway ;).

Thanks for my book!! I received it last week? The week before?? I'm losing track.

Thank you for your kind words, too...it sounds like you've been there, done that... Was it a long time ago for you?
