****D’s Guest Post****
I have not written in a while, so I decided I should write a book review. It is a book called Thief Lord. It is written by Cornelia Funke and I have read it twice.
There were two children, Prosper and Bo, whose parents had died. They were to be taken to their rich aunt, Esther. She was not very fond of children, but Bo, who was five, was incredibly adorable with his angel-hair and round face. She would keep Bo at home and show him off, while Prosper would be at boarding school and would see each other once a month, and on holidays.
Neither of them liked this, so they ran away to Venice because of the wonderful stories their mother had told them about Venice. They found a shelter in a movie theater named Stella with some other children with no homes. There was Ricco, Mosta, Hornet and their “leader,” Scipo. They steal for a living, and then sell those things to a greedy man named Barbarossa. Then Scipo got a job by an old man. It was to steal a wooden wing. Esther then came to town and told the detective, Victor, about Prosper and Bo.
Why is this wing so important? What does it belong to? Will Ester find Prosper and Bo? Read the book to find out!
This is a five star story.

This is one of my favorite stories by Cornelia Funke. I read it for two reasons, one to see if it was something my son would like, and two to see if it was something my students would enjoy. I was thrilled at the chance to read it again with my son. It is an excellent sook with many unexpected twist and turns. I’m glad to hear that others have enjoyed it as much as I did. Great job on the book review!

D. Your book review was written very well — it made me want to read it and find out what is going to happen.
Do you think I should get it for my 10 year old granddaughter?

Andrea — thank you!
Pamela – It might be a little hard, if she isn’t an advanced reader, but it is a wonderful book (and I am 10.)
Thank you both for reading my book review!
