*****D’s Guest Post*****
Today’s book review will be a historical fiction called “Color Me Dark, The Great Migration North.”
It is about Nellie Lee Love who moves to Chicago. She is black. She writes in her diary every day and you learn about what happened at that time. She lived at Bradford corners with Mama, Daddy, Grandma Nessie, Papa Till, Uncle Pace, Erma Jean, and her.
When Uncle Pace mysteriously dies, Erma Jean stops talking. Then Mama, Daddy, Erma Jean and Nellie Lee move to Chicago because it is bigger. White kids start throwing rocks through their apartment window. Will they end up liking Chicago, or will they move back to Bradford Corners with Grandma Nessie and Papa Till?
Read the book to find out!
