C and D approached an exhibitor at the HCHY conference last month, to ask her questions for their lesson (they were gathering statistics about the exhibitors.) The woman looked at C and recognized him, but couldn’t figure out why. She asked herself, “Was he here yesterday?” “Have I met him before?”
Then C spoke.
“You’re the Oscar Mayer wiener boy!!” she exclaimed.
She’d seen my post months back and watched it numerous times with family and friends. She said it made her day, over and over again.
You’ve had the opportunity to learn some of C’s talents in recent posts, but some of you may not have witnessed his singing back in July, and I thought it deserved a reprise. So in honor of all you blog readers that appreciate a kid who steps out of his comfort zone to try something he’s never done before, I present…
Wiener Whiner
Here is my seven-year-old son doing his very best to read the song lyrics while singing a jingle his generation has never heard. Be sure to turn up your sound!

Hi,
Your son is darling! My college friend drove the Wienermobile and had to audition 1,000’s of kids. Good thing he liked the tune!
This is a great idea and I am so happy to participate. My story is up!
Thanks for joining us, Jenn! EXCELLENT story!!

Isn’t that wild – that she remembered him from his stage debut.
I like Curt’s rendition. I tell ya, I just want to give him one of those grandma hugs that sends my grandsons running for their rooms.
The radio in the background at work keeps playing soundbites for people to “choose” the new one, and they all drive me crazy.

[...] It’s Tuesday and I find myself sitting here thinking of things I could post to contribute to Kelly’s carnival on catching your kids being good. I clicked on her link of her CUTE little guy doing the Oscar Meyer Wiener song and the moment presented itself. [...]

I’m so glad you posted this again. I never could get it to work the first time around.
Since I am so very shy, I am always hugely impressed with kids (or adults) who will get up in front of others and do things that they may not be familiar with or comfortable doing.
