The Original Perfect Post Awards

It’s the beginning of yet another month, and I’m pleased to announce my nomination for November’s Perfect Post Award.

Pamela, at The Dust Will Wait, writes evocative posts - funny, touching, reminiscent, or sweet. She infuses feelings and entertainment into informative, descriptive posts, so they’re a worthwhile read on so many levels.

And in her post, Runaway, she did it all at once.

Congratulations, Pamela. You earned this one.

Suburban Turmoil and Petroville host the Perfect Post Awards each month. Stop by and check out other perfect posts!

Here’s your first clue. If you’ll notice, this is my business desk. My blogging desk. My writing desk. My liferevolvesaroundthis desk. And she’s sitting on one of my kids’ textbooks.

We decided to go on a shopping spree for our community’s food shelf, as it gets bare this time of year. The kids decided how much they’d contribute, what they’d buy and how much of it they could purchase within our budget. It was neat to watch them go back and forth between the aisles analyzing cost, budget, and quality of nutrition. I just stood back and took pictures;)

My lobes have nearly grown shut from lack of earrings, and it could take me a week to find a belt in my closet.

But I accessorize my camera.

Some of you have asked about my camera. A month ago, I decked out my precious Canon Digital Rebel XT EOS with a pretty new 50mm f/1.8 lens. It was an early Christmas gift to myself (thanks Ree for the tip) and I’ve been snap-happy ever since.

Do yourself a favor - put it on your Christmas list! (You know, the one your rich uncle checks off for you?)

1. Offer to give your kid’s neat-freak friend a ride home.

2. Say nothing as your daughter is mortified by neat-freak friend saying, “Yuck” when she climbs into the back seat.

3. Own a handheld vacuum (i.e. Dustbuster type) that kids know how to use.

4. Listen with interest as kids organize plastic bags and handheld vacuum to take on our errands in the car the next day.

5. Smile in triumph as both kids detail the backseat while you drive, without one iota of adult intervention.

Works for me!!
