Great ideas! Robin - I suggested that to Deena and I think she might do it for text book reading ( you have a smart one there!)

And Meredith - YES!! I don't know why I didn't think of that! Actually, Curtis loves to read Click, CLack, Moo - and Its a very similar book (same author??) So we'll do that. Yes, it's juvenile, but they really like that sometimes.

It is too juvenile for them, for Duck for President is a cute book. But like I said ... too juvenile.

I think it is an excellent idea for Deena to analyze the candidates in your area. My oldest has been asking about the tons of yarn signs she is seeing, and took some interest in my discussion with her about the upcoming elections.

My daughter always keeps a notebook handy when she's reading; she records words she doesn't know, and then goes back later to look them up. This has always amazed me, but her vocabulary is beyond her years (we didn't teach her to do this, she just did it!).

The apple doesn't fall too far from the tree! ;)
I like Deena's title for her online journal, fits perfectly.
Stuart Little is such a wonderful book.I'll have to pick that one up and read it to the kids.
Have a great Monday Kelly!
