We do the same thing! With my son, it's more like the bunny story about "I love you all the way to the moon and back". I used to say that on the phone with my oldest grandaughter. They lived on east coast.. us on west. I would say "I love you." She would say "I love you more." After a while it became a game.. I would say "I love you more than chocolate ice-cream." She would say something else. So it went. She wasn't four yet, so her "more's" were always a funny response. The best being when she said "Gramma, I love you more than a poo-poo platter.!" She'd been watching "It's a Bugs' Life" .... I giggled when I saw the “love you more” marker.
