Welcome to the new Pass the Torch! It’s Pass the Torch Tuesday, when we share simple and stupendous times kids make us proud.
Guidelines: Just write about catching a kid being good, link to here, and read everyone’s posts.
Or if you’d prefer to share your story in comments, that’s fine as well! Complete guidelines and former PTT links are >HERE< .
FISHING HIATUS
Every weekend morning, my son bugs my husband until he finally relents and takes him fishing. But Sunday, I had just returned home in the wee hours of the morning, so my husband and I were catching up on much-needed conversation. It was already 9:30 AM when Dad finally got dressed and went outside to meet up with his seven-year-old fishing partner.
Not a minute later, my husband came back inside to inform me Curt was raking leaves.
They both worked in the yard for a while and decided to ditch the fishing, since it would probably be too late for the bite anyway. And Dad rewarded Curt with a well-earned game of catch.

What made YOU proud this week? If you have a Pass the Torch story to share, please tell us about it or leave your link in comments. And visit those who’ve caught their kids being good! They’d love to hear from you!

Hello Waya!
Thanks so much for coming over to the new site. And I appreciate your feedback (on the site and the son;))

How was the move to WP? Hope it wasn’t too bad. Your new site looks great!

Thanks Kailani! We’ll see – I still have so much to learn! But I was tired of Blogger, so figured I’d jump, “Ready or not!!”

Looks good in here, Kelly — and you gotta love WordPress. I know I sure do. I’m not an “expert” — but have worked with it quite a bit — so if there is anything you need help figuring out, just give me a holler, OK?
I was reading some archives, and my PPT today is one of those entries. Not that I’m running out of things to be proud of Ethan for … but this just seemed to “fit”. Its at:

Hi Kelly – what a fun and BIG moment for you. I think everything looks great!
I haven’t had time to blog some of the things that come to mind of catching my kids being goog – but I sure got a cute one of my 3 year old being himself up yesterday!
Hugs,

My 3-year old helped me bake brownies. When my wife arrived home from work, she asked if he bake the brownies himself.
“I did,” my 3-year old said. “All by myself.”
My wife smiled.
“Daddy helped a little, though,” he added. “He made the mess in the kitchen.”

There is some special bond between father and son. I love to watch my husband and son play catch, and seeing my son help my husband being his ‘lil sidekick fixing up the house! I do love wordpress, I’m ready to jump too!
Have a great day, Kelly!

Holly – I checked out your video clip – what a hoot!
And I love your story, Mike. It was nice you could help your three-year-old by making a mess;)
Christine – there is something special about a father and son together, isn’t there? Mike’s example is a perfect illustration.
Thanks all for stopping by and commenting on the new site.

I’ve been trying to post my Pass the Torch story for the last 45 minutes but Blogger won’t let me do it! Grrrrrrrr!
I’m behind on reading my blogs, so hopefully I’ll be back by tomorrow to see the new site and catch up!

That’s such a great story. What a proud moment to realize that your son had decided to work while waiting for dad to get ready. He’s going to be a great man someday!
